School Season

Now that school has started, I’m both excited and nervous about the possibilities, even with this pandemic sill around. New classmates, new professors, new school supplies. Who doesn’t love a good school supply run?! Even with classes online, new clothes are definitely still necessary this time around.

There’s never been a better time to learn how to solve community problems than the present. There’s no shortage of people coming up with solutions. With any luck, I’ll be going to school with, and learning from a bunch of them. That’s exciting. The more people I meet, the more seeing how they view things opens me up.While I’m totally invested in my major, it’s more of a values thing. Helping your community has never been a get rich quick scheme, but it’s worth it, right? It’s gotta be, otherwise I’m wasting my time LOL.

I imagine traditional extracurriculars won’t be as much of a thing as they usually are. Either that, or they’ll look different. That said, I’ll still need to find creative ways to be of service, but I can’t overdo it. All work and no play makes me… unfit to serve.

Hopefully, I can find a guide or adviser along the way… someone discerning, and further along their professional track that can also appreciate what I have to offer, and can take the place of the extracurriculars I’ll be missing. Maybe even someone to celebrate passing finals with? I won’t have a ton of extra time, with my course load and obligations (and of course this pandemic thing). Investing in my future guarantees that you’ll be a priority for me over breaks and free time throughout the semester.

Closeness and safe comfort is harder to come by these days. Quality time with who a companion who takes care of herself, and is still a little bright eyed and bushy-tailed never hurt anyone, right?
